Collection: Our Hairbows are Washable!
Wash by hand!
This is the safest method for everyday dirt and ensures the adhesive holding the bow to the clip doesn't break down.
Fill a small bowl or sink with lukewarm water. Add a few drops of a gentle cleaning agent like baby shampoo, mild liquid detergent, or dish soap.
Submerge the bow and let it soak for 5 to 10 minutes.
Target stains: If there are stubborn spots, gently rub the ribbon between your fingers. For deep grime in the ridges, you can lightly scrub with a soft, clean toothbrush.
Run the bow under cool, clean water until all soap residue is completely gone.
And my favorite option is the Washing Machine because is quicker hahaha, I use my mesh laundry bags and place the hairbows and headbands and wash them on a gentle cycle with cold water,
How to Dry and Reshape the Bows
Proper drying is crucial to keep the bow from looking flat or creased.
- Remove excess water: Gently press the bow between a clean, dry towel or paper towel to absorb the bulk of the water. Do not wring or twist it.
- Fluff the loops: Insert your fingers into the loops of the bow to puff them out and reshape them to their original look.
- Air Dry: Lay the bow flat on an absorbent surface or hang it up out of direct sunlight.
- Speed up (Optional): You can use a hair dryer on a cool/low setting while shaping the loops with your hands. Avoid high heat, as it can melt the hot glue or burn your fingers on the metal clips.
⚠️ Critical Care Warnings
- Embellished or Glitter Bows: If the bow features rhinestones, pearls, or heavy glitter, do not soak it. Water will dissolve glitter and loosen glued-on gems. Spot-clean these sections gently with a damp baby wipe or cloth instead.
- Restoring Crispness: If the bow loses its stiff "boutique" structure after washing, you can lightly mist it with fabric stiffening spray or spray starch once it is completely dry, then reshape it.
